Quick and Easy Makeup Moves for Busy Moms

By Cindi Lewis, for mothersforum.org

When you have kids, there isn’t much time in the day to focus on yourself. Most of the time you are dropping the kids off at school wearing nothing but a robe, with the possible Cheerio in your hair. Some days you may reminisce about the times when life was easier. When every piece of hair fell elegantly on your shoulder, or when the lady in the bathroom would compliment you on your new lipstick. For most women, feeling beautiful is an important aspect in life, and I’m here to tell you that there’s many ways to look and feel your best, even when you’re on the move.

1.) The hair-do Let’s face it, most women’s hair never looks great in the morning, but you do have a few options here that don’t involve a straightener. For one, you can take a shower before you go to bed and then leave your hair in a nice braid; so when you wake up your hair will come out in a nice, wavy fashion; no comb needed. Or, a low side bun is a great look for women who like to be sexy without much effort. All you have to do is part your hair a little bit to the side, which ever one you prefer, then with a comb brush your hair to the side and wrap it a couple times until it forms into a bun-like shape.

2.) Let your lips do the talking. As you are slinging your purse over your shoulder and pushing paper lunch bags into your kids hands, there is really no time to think about makeup. But if you always carry a nice, simple lip gloss or tinted lip balm in your purse, you will suddenly discover that there’s a good 30 seconds before you turn the car on and drive it out of the driveway; leaving you with a beautiful moment of apply, smack and fabulous. Burt’s Bees tinted lip shimmer is a great choice. The color will give your lips a full, luscious look and the infused peppermint taste will make your lips feel new andfresh. Or if you desire something shinier, then go for Covergirls WetslicksFruit Spritzers Lip gloss. The gloss will keep the chapped lips away, if you can help yourself from licking them; the taste is delicious.

3.) What will make your eyes pop The morning is no time to put on large amounts of eyeliner to cover up your sleepy eyes, it will only make you look like a mother who doesn’t know what makeup remover looks like. However, two great makeup items that you can use to brighten your eyes are black mascara and brown liner. Sometimes black eyeliner makes the eyes look smaller, so to make them look bigger and awake it’s crucial to apply a small amount of brown eyeliner to the bottom eye lid and shape your top and bottom lashes with black mascara. The eyeliner will make your eyes standout, and the mascara will hold the look together, forming a beautiful glow around the pupil area.

So there you go, quick and easy ways to look beautiful, even if your baby kept you up all night!
