6 Reasons You Should Be Glad You Are Single This Holiday Season

Happy holidays! Another holiday season. Yet another holiday season, single. While it may be tempting to put on your favorite sweatpants and drink away the holidays with your favorite cookies and fudge, while crying to It’s a Wonderful Life, you shouldn’t. To be honest, being single during the holiday season is one of the greatest things that could happen to you. Sure, you may not think that when you see scores of couples walking hand in hand looking at each other in that lovey-dovey way. However, there are many reasons why you should enjoy being single this year.

1. Gifts. You have to buy fewer gifts. You don’t have to stress about that perfect gift for your significant other. Instead, you can splurge and buy something for yourself. Those shoes that you’ve been eying for the past couple of months? It can be your Christmas gifts to yourself.

2. Meet a new flame. Just because you are single during the holidays doesn’t mean that you have to endure the holidays alone! There are tons of parties that require your attendance. With so many bashes, you can certainly find an eligible person that you might have not met otherwise!

3. You can kiss anyone under the mistletoe. You can take advantage of being single, and snag that hunk that you’ve been eying and tell him to pucker up! You are only just honoring tradition after all.

4. Enjoy the silent nights. With all of the holiday hustle and bustle, being alone means that you can relax on your own. You don’t have to be rushing to your significant other’s side because they got offended at a Christmas party. You can relax, pop in your favorite holiday movie, and enjoy the silence.

5. Don’t have to deal with the significant other’s parents. Your significant other might want to be dragging you to their parents or you might feel obligated to take your so to your parents. Being single, you can enjoy your holidays alone, and without the pressure trying to please another family.

6. You can do whatever you want. Want to sleep in until 2 pm? Go ahead. Want to bake a plethora of baked goods? Go for it. Without someone else in the picture, you are free to do whatever you want to do. You don’t have to be pleasing someone else or compromising.

Happy holidays! Don’t lament in the fact that you might be single, enjoy it to the fullest!
