The last news item I posted here was about Delhi Police doing what they should have been doing- Take hard action against men who try to take advantage of women. That video shows the men in uniform rescuing a lady from the hooligans who try to manhandled her. Now, there is another good news, from a friend of mine from Delhi, even though it is kind of late.

The man who allegedly raped a girl from from India’a northeastern state of Manipur here has been arrested by the Delhi Police.
Sources said that the man is currently held at the Dwarka Police Station, Sector 23, in Delhi.
I would like to say, kudos to the officers. However, I have been told that the police took almost a week to apprehend the man even though his identity was assertained from the debit cards he left behind at the crime scene.
The girl working in a spa was returning home from at around 8.30 PM Indian Time when she was offered a lift by the man in his car. However, the Northeast Support Centre which has been spearheading the campaign for the arrest of the man said that the man took her to an isolated spot and there assaulted the girl leaving her to die in the cold winter night.
My only hope is that, as a mother and as a woman, the culprit must be brought to justice. The Delhi Police have the tendency to cover-up things, but there are signs that things are changing slowing. I’m upbeat about that. Cheers to women and let those who committed crime on us be punished.

Hew should be immediately tried so that there is no tempering with evidences
I totally agree .. this will send a strong signal to men who want to take advantage of innocent girls.
Well done to Delhi Police! Justice sholud be done to all, irrespective, the victim is the daughter of Prime Minister or from the Scheduled Tribe. Let’s behave like human beings,,,Someone who behave like a beast should be treated like a beast.
all women organisations should follow this case and make sure that the culprit gets what he deserves.
Rape, and not only that, attempt to murder, he deserves to be put away for life, if not capital punishment. Personally, i believe, if proven guilty, he should get capital punishment. Gender equality can only be possible when girls feel safe to get a job that requires coming home late at night, in this case it is only 8:30. People in Delhi has yet a long way to go to make delhi a safe and healthy city for girls. let this ‘incident’ be a reminder to us all, it could have happened to any of our beloved sisters and mothers.
I call upon all the delhi girls, follow this case…. let not the culprit go free… make him an example of what a rapist will face…. show us that delhi will not tolerate rape or whatever injustice the male dominated society had served on you…..STAND UP FOR YOUR RIGHT TO LIVE WITHOUT FEAR!! YOUR RIGHT TO LIFE!! And always remember, there are thousands of men who believe in gender equality, who will support you in your campaign, etc.
