Mac or Windows: Which is friendlier for Moms?

Undoubtedly, mothers are the first teachers for their babies. Whether it is about stars, pets, food or homework, moms have the answers ready. But, in this first paced world, moms also need to do their homework before they can answer every ably-dumbly computer related questions of their children. For the working as well as non-working moms, who want to purchase Mac or Windows for their homes, here I am trying to give a feature-wise comparison between the two.

Mac or Windows – This is an age old battle between the two leading operating systems of the computer world. Mac OS X is a UNIX based operating system from Apple Inc, whereas Windows is from Microsoft and has its own internal architecture. As I have used both of them, I can say, both Mac and Windows operating systems based machines are good. Hence, if you are choosing between the two, the important thing is to count on your needs with respect to the features available.

User friendliness -

Mac has been beautifully designed with highly interactive graphical user interfaces and is considered to be good at everything that a user does everyday. Like many other computer users, I personally feel that Macs are easier to use that Windows. But, at the same time, as Windows are used more in numbers, it is easier to find tips, tutorials and helping hand in Windows than that of Mac. If you do have sufficient technical knowledge, then you must choose Mac, or else Windows can be better suggested.

Playing games and tasks like Word processing -

Windows are very good at playing games. Children love these computer games and here Windows can be a great choice over Mac. Though Mac is good at graphics, which is good for the users, who work on related fields, but when it is playing games, Windows with graphics card support are way ahead. Moreover, though Macs have support for almost all kinds of software applications, when it comes to word processing, spread sheets, Windows are really better.

Trouble shooting and handling -

Mac operating systems are pretty easy to handle and there are simple trouble shooting methods, if you encounter any trouble. At the same time, Windows sometimes do not provide any clear trouble shooting option and thus requires professional assistance to solve the issue. However, in case the problem is really critical, you can more easily find a Windows expert than a Mac user.

Price -

Mac systems are more costly than the Windows. If money is not a constraint, then you can choose either Mac or Windows, depending upon your comfort. But, if money is a constraint, Mac will be around three times costly to Windows and hence, it will be wise to go for Windows straight.

Data Loss and solutions available -

Even with the best quality hardware and software, you never can prevent instances of data loss. But, fortunately, in case of Windows as well as Mac, there are many reliable data recovery software available, which can help you recover your lost or inaccessible data back. There are organizations, like Stellar Data Recovery, who are providing powerful data recovery software both for Windows and Mac – Stellar Phoenix Windows Data Recovery, Stellar Phoenix Macintosh Data Recovery.

Mac is good in terms of look and feel but too costly. I would prefer to buy a Windows over Mac due to its lesser price.
